Biography.

Seth Fite was born in Bolton, England and raised in Ohio to missionary parents. He was educated at home which allowed him great freedom to study his interests one of which was drawing. Fite’s grandfather, having been raised near the Brandywine Valley, urged him to look to the Wyeths for inspiration.

At thirteen, he learned academic painting under Beth Schott, a Cincinnati painter. At this time he began studying Rembrandt, Velazquez, and the Cincinnati master, Frank Duveneck. Fite remained her student five years before attending the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia where he received a Bachelor's degree in Illustration.

In 2019, he was accepted as a student by the master painter Odd Nerdrum and began studying Nerdrum’s philosophy at his studio in Norway. Fite integrated a deeper metaphysic into his paintings, placed within an American setting. He has decorated numerous homes and has been featured in articles and interviews. Fite currently paints in various locations across America and works out of his studio school, The Louisville School of Painting, in Louisville, Kentucky, which he founded in 2020.
